Ihave seen the Movie, which is an interpretation of the director, that could be a bit different than what you might interpret for yourself.
But all in all the movies delivers the message of the book and it assists you in engaging your thoughts into the secret.
The Basic Idea that the Book would share with you is the secret of Attraction "wanting something so badly that you reinforce the idea in your mind every second of your life until you attract it. Also they will share with you the power of positive thought, these are two of many ideas that the book shares with us.
I recommend the book before the movie, but it is also very interesting to see the movie after you have read the book it would be like comparing notes with the director and catching real life examples and testimonials.
