Is It Bad To Give A Dog Coffee Or Tea?

    Yes. Coffee and tea contain caffeine which is not healthy for a dog.

    Yeah so how can caffeine be bad for a dog? My nan has had her dog 15years and told me tea is good for dogs as it makes the coat shiny and soft, however she did say too much isn't good though and a small bowl once or twice a week is ok!

    Caffeine is a stimulant that increases heart rate. A dogs heart rate is very high anyways(very fast). And generally dogs weigh less than humans so the caffeine will effect them more in smaller doses. Caffeine ingestion can cause heart attacks and strokes. Caffeine can be toxic to animals. A lethal dose is 150mg/kg.

      It sorta depends how much sugar and sodium is in it. For green tea sure why not it doesnt have that much sugar. Now for other tea you can if there isn't a lot of sugar or sodium(salt). But for coffee i wouldn't advise it.
