Wow...a list of my heroes...and some I've never heard of. I do think you are doing injustice to Archie. He was merely ignorant, and he never really meant to do harm.

Yes, it kind of does--LOL :) They need to be zapped or whapped upside the head with a "what are you thinking" and the "where's the love " hand. We can add hubby to the list if need be. :)

Im afraid Archie Bunker never made it to the UK. So we have no idea who he is. He sounds like a Homer Simpson kinda guy. If so, he's my kinda guy. Lol

Archie bunker (played by carroll o'connor) did actually make it to the uk in the 1970's. In fact the series all in the family was the us version (which came later) of till death us do part, archie being their equivalent of alf garnett (played by warren mitchell)

Note for Naghamadi. Archie Bunker (played by Carroll O'Connor) did actually make it to the UK in the 1970's. In fact the series ALL IN THE FAMILY was the US version (which came later) of TILL DEATH US DO PART, Archie being their equivalent of ALF GARNETT (played by Warren Mitchell)

Ah. Now I understand. I did watch Till death us do part. A big hit in the UK. But have seen bits lately pointing out just how racist the character was. Thats probably why there are no reruns on Satelite TV now.
PS. My nomination would be The Duke Of Edinburgh.He seems to put his foot in his mouth wherever he goes in the world.
