Filling for disability isn't the hard part.  Just go to your local Social Security office and make an appointment.  You can also call and an application will be sent to you.  The hard part is being prepared for the next 3 years with no income unless you have savings, other source of income, or you have family to help.  You will get denied 3 times on the 2nd or 3rd time get a lawyer that specializes in disability.  When you get your court date don't go without a lawyer.  A good lawyer will take a percentage if they win your case, stay away from any that you see on t.v. They will hold your case for a year and hand it off to a local lawyer.  The lawyer you see on T.V. Will get a percentage of what your lawyer that takes you case.  Open up your yellow pages and find a lawyer that specializes in disability.
