Dry skin give him a nice bath, and it should clear up..

Its a condition just like regular dandruff on us humans, and may be a minor allergic reaction to something new in the home. If it doesn't seem to be causing the cat any discomfort, it does not necessarily need to be treated, and may clear up on its own. Failing this try to find a mostiorizing lotion, or a food with oils to help the dry skin.
Failing this, see your vet.

If the cat is loosing fur and scratching, or showing thick flakes it could be mange (a parasite) a vet trip would then be in order.

That makes sense! Our dogs brought fleas in the house, and I had to bathe a few times to get rid of them. I'm sure that shampoo dried their skin out. I have skin soothing spray & I'll get some shampoo for dry skin. Hope it helps. THANKS SO MUCH!!!
