How Do You Play An F Chord?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The F chord…as guitar players say 'it's not called the F-chord for nothing'. Playing an F chord on the guitar is no easy task especially for beginners, to play the F chord a guitar player should have a very strong left hand, as the concept of this chord required the guitar player to Barr all the string with his or her first finger.

To play an F chord you can start by placing your first finger and barring all the notes on the first fret.

Then place your second finger on the G string Second fret.
Place your third finger on the A string third fret
And place your fourth finger on the D string third fret.

Once you placed all the fingers properly, now strum all the notes together and you have your F chord. You can also play the notes which are included in F chord and get the same sound…the notes for the F chord are F C A…or you can play the entire chord with the notes…F C F A C F.
