CDRW is an optical disc. It is different from CD-R as it can be used to store data such as movies, music, pictures and any other type of data .The data, once added to a CDRW, can be added and removed as per our wish. You can also add more data to an existing CDRW. Adding files to a CDRW can be done by the default burning software or by other software such as Nero Burning Rom, Sonic Record Now, Roxio, etc.  Different softwares have different method of burning though the principle remains the same.

It is recommended to format a CDRW before using it to write data. There are many brands of CDRW available in the market such as Sony, Samsung, Moserbaer, etc.  A DVD-writer can also be used to burn a CDRW. A CDRW can be damaged by scratching or bending it. Always use a well-known branded CDRW, as there are many not inferior qualities of CDRW available which can damage the lens of the CD or DVD writer.

I m using Nero for burn the cd. I install it and run this. Put your blank in cd-rw and select which type of cd format you want to burn like mp3, data, etc etc.  And then add content in it. Follow the steps and done.
