How Does A Rising Barometer Indicate A Spell Of Cool Dry Weather?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

A barometer measures atmospheric pressure by means of a tube or column of mercury, which rises and falls according to the weight of the atmosphere,  or a vacuum box which measures air pressure by the action of the air on its lid.

High air pressure indicates dry weather, low pressure  shows wet or stormy weather.
