How Old Does A Puppy Need To Be To Start Eating Food NO Mother Dog Iam His Mother?

Answer Question

Puppies are normally weaned at 6-8 weeks of age but orphaned or shelter puppies can be weaned at 4 weeks of age.  At 4 weeks start giving a canned puppy food gruel and phase out the puppy milk replacer.  Introduce hard food at 6-8 weeks.  These puppies should be fed puppy milk replacer (available at pet stores or veterinary clinics) if younger than 4 weeks of age.  This puppy will need to start vaccinations at 4-6 weeks of age as it is not receiving maternal antibodies.
