Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Archangel is said to be a superior or a high-ranking angel. Archangels are found in various religions and religious traditions, which consist of Christianity, Islam, Judasim and Zoroastrianism.

The word Archangle comes from the Greek language. In Judaism there are no clear orientations to archangels in the canonical text of the Hebrew Bible. In Christianity the New Testament hardly mentions about angels, and has only allusions to arch angels. In Islam Mikail and Jibril are referred as archangels and it was them who brought the Koran to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is highlighted in the Islamic texts the angels are genderless. Occultists occasionally relate archangels in Kabbalistic fashion with diverse fundamentals or even colours at times. Saraqael is said to be an angle which watches over "the spirits that sin in the spirit".
