    After the Amritsar massacre, Gandhi produced a report on the killings. Previously a moderate activist who preferred to cooperate with the British when possible, after Amritsar he began to advocate open rebellion and worked closely with Nehru (the future Prime Minister of independent India) to end colonial rule.
