What Is The Different Between Gap And Clearance?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A gap is the distance between two items, a clearance is basically the same but implies movement, so that as one item passes the other, it clears by a certain amount. So you'd describe the distance between a skirting and a wall as a gap, but between a door and its frame as a clearance. This is not set in stone, but is a useful differentiator.
