Europeans who, in the past centuries, took over other people's lands overseas, for economic reasons. They were looking to expand their own people, their economic, political, religious and cultural systems. But mostly, they were looking to exploit the riches of those countries. The Romans did it to their fellow Europeans and then much later on the other Europeans did the same in Africa, Asia, the Americas (both North and South), and Australia. The top world colonialists were Britain (#1), then France, Spain, Portugal and last, the Dutch. You could say the driving source was really European GREED!
