I am confused that what what is electrostatic induction, plz tell

    If in the presence of a charged body, an insulated conductor has like charges at one end and unlike charges at the other end this is called the electrostatic induction.
    OR
    When an object gets charge by induction, a charge is created by influence of a charged object but not by the contact with a charged object it is called electrostatic induction.

      Electrostatic induction is a redistribution of electrical charge in an object, caused by the influence of nearby charges.
