What Differance Is Pig Collagen Or Cow?

My docter recently gave me a collagen filler on my face above my upper lip. He said it was from cows and not pigs. What differance is there. Since having this treatment ive been ill firstly the next day i had an apsess in my eye, which by day 3 was badly infected, and then day 2 an outbrake of cold sores, and now i have a bad cold and feel compleetly rundown. And my upper lip after a week is lumpy and swollen.

There are different sources for collagen cosmetic fillers. Cow was one of the first. Human collagen is also available. Pig (or porcine) collagen is also used. The pig and cow collagen are similar, and both can cause allergic reactions. Collagen also tends to last only 2-4 months. Some of the other fillers available last longer, for example, hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restylane) There's more info at  Cosmetic Fillers

Many people are allergic to cow collagen, and you are probably one of those people. Cow collagen (bovine) has many allergic side affects and you are one of the person who has and have to suffer form them.
