If Hiccups Occur Very Often, Then Does It Indicate Any Kind Of Disease?

Do anyone know about this?

    Doubtful.  I do not think anybody really knows what causes hiccups or what purpose they serve (kinda like yawns).

    Wiki does say this.. "Hiccups may be caused by pressure to the phrenic nerve by other anatomical structures, or rarely by tumors and certain kidney disease."  So maybe it is possible that it could be a sign of some sort of disease... But even wiki does not seem completely sold on it.

    I get hiccups from eating meat. I am a happy camper if, for dinner, I have nothing but a thick steak.  I also prefer hamburger patties or hotdogs without a bun.  But recently I noticed that every time I eat just meat... I get the hiccups.  Really wierd, I know.

    Wiki = Wikipedia.

    I think I would immediately see a doctor if you are having blood in your urine.

      It is unlikely you will get a problem just from hiccups.
      Try eating food more slowly, hiccups can be caused by eating too quickly and trapping air in your stomach, be sure to chew your food well and take smaller bites.

      There was recently a case of a girl who had them for like 7 years constantly and she was not "ill" just hiccuping, its definitely annoying but not dangerous.

      Hope this helps

        Hiccups are sudden, involuntary contractions of the diaphragm muscle.  They aren't serious, and there is no clear-cut reason for their occurrence.  They may be associated with some minor ailments.  The more serious ones could be pneumonia or kidney failure when harmful substances build up in the blood.  Unless you suspect something, there's nothing to be concerned about.

        Please see a doctor ASAP. The blood is more important that the hiccups. Please take care of this! It might be nothing, but why chance it?
