Where Are The Yorkshire Dales?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Yorkshire Dales are in the north of England in an area that covers around 1000 square miles of Yorkshire.  The area includes the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and contains some of the most spectacular countryside scenery in the world.

As well as the countryside to explore, there are many interesting towns in the area and many tourist attractions.  The main focus in the area though is on an unspoilt peaceful environment that offers an escape from the pace of everyday life.

The area itself is split into four consisting of the Northern (Arkengarthdale, Swaledale, Lower Teesdale, Wensleydale, Coverdale & Bishopdale), Southern (Wharfedale, Three Peaks, Forest of Bowland, Ribblesdale, Littondale, Malhamdale & Airedale), Western (Dentdale, The Howgills, Garsdale, The Lune Valley & Mallerstang) and Eastern (Nidderdale, Lower Wensleydale, Uredale and the Harrogate District) Dales.

    The official website is www.yorkshiredales.org.
