    People are now more health conscious. A massive awareness has been created over the recent years on our eating habits. Especially, increasing obesity at an alarming rate worldwide has forced people to think back. It has been found that the body needs certain amount of energy in terms of calorie on hourly basis for smooth functioning of our health system. Our food and beverage intake provide the basic sources of these calories. Every separate eatable part of food has their own calorie output. When our calorie intake becomes more than the required value, they don't get utilized and in the process started depositing within the body in the form of fats, etc.

    Creation of such fatty deposits within the body causes health problem and obesity. If we can consume food items commensurate with our calorie requirement, we can easily sort out majority of our health problems. Keeping in view of the stated aspect, nutritionists have started to measure and provide the caloric value of each item we are likely to consume. Such caloric values when prepared in a tabular or other presentable formats against the food items give the food calorie counter. Such counters provide calorie value vis-à-vis food items.

    Great post, I definitely agree with you. I believe that a calorie counter is a valuable tool in which we can learn about the foods that we are putting in our body, and develop a complete lifestyle change by doing so.
