I Have A Black Rabbit 2 Yrs Old. His Hair Is Now Turning Grey In Patches And He Sheds A Lot Of Hair. Why Is His Hair Turning Grey Is He Possibly Turning Old?
We generally feed him on the crunchy stuff that we eat as well because he is very fond of them ( things like pringle chips, tortilla) will this harm him in the near future

Is he shedding hair or losing hair?
With shedding a lot of hair falls out but there are not thin or bald patches where the hair came from.
Hair loss is most commonly the result of 6 very different things.
1. Malnutrition: If he does not have the proper diet and does not get the necessary nutrients, then his body does not have the things that are necessary to mantain hair growth and color. Look online for the proper diet.
2. Disease: There are MANY medical reasons that could cause hair loss. From cancer, to an hypothyroidism, to mange. Only a vet can diagnose this.
3. Seasonal Shedding: Your rabbit could be losing his winter coat and growing in his summer coat. If his cage is outdoors, if he spends time outdoors, or if it snows where you live, then this is a definite possibility.
4. Age: Hair discoloration and loss is an unfortunate result of aging but I do not think it is likely in this case because 2 years is not old for a rabbit.
5. Pregnancy: As a former rabbit owner (and breeder), I know that when female rabbits are about to give birth they pull out the hair on their belly to line their nest. Is it possible that He is really a She?
6. Allergies or Food Poison: Have you ever looked on the back of the food you give your rabbit and looked at the INGREDIENTS. Chips are made for PEOPLE not RABBITS.
I don't know any food fact for rabbits but you'd be shocked what everyday people-foods can KILL a dog.
Aspirin, tea, nutmeg, macadamia nuts, garlic, coffee, and onions and apples, cherries, peaches and similar fruit can be FATAL to dogs . Pointsettas, holly and mistletoe can be FATAL to cats. Grapes and raisins can cause dogs' kidneys to stop working & give ferrets cancer.

People can develop an allergy to ANYTHING at ANY TIME. So the next time you have seafood or are stung by a bee, you could DIE of an allergic reaction; THE SAME IS TRUE FOR ANIMALS.
Maybe he suddenly developed an allergy to something in the chips.
My best guess is #1 my second choice is #6. It could be one, all, none, or a combination of these reasons.
GO GET YOUR RABBIT SOME PROPER FOOD!
