Well according to scientific research the music does affect the heart rate of the listener. It was found that the heart rate decreased and the heart beat slowed down, if it was classical music. However, heart rate was found to increase while listening to fast beats or rock music.

Yes it does. Rock music changes your heart rate because it has a faster tempo.
