How Do Scientists Study The Movement Of Galaxies In The Universe?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

They study the light (and other electromagnetic emissions) from these galaxies and check whether it is shifted towards the blue or red end of the spectrum to determine whether that galaxy is moving away from or towards us, respectively.

Using Hubble's Constant (speed increases proportionately with distance), they can also determine how fast they are moving.
