I have a 2001 Impala that will not go into over drive. What are the most common repairs for this?

What I would do is take it in to your local gm dealer and have them do a diagnostic test. It may only be a small problem such as a sensor or loose wire.

They do not have transmission dip sticks; the only way to check is to take in for service at a dealer or shop.
