The International Court of Justice is the court of the United Nations and it is located at the Peace Palace in the Hague in the Netherlands.
The Chief Justice is currently Rosalyn Higgins, Lady Higgins. She is the first female judge to have been appointed to this position. She has been a member of the Court since July 12, 1995, and was re-elected as of February 6, 2000.
She has had an illustrious legal career and is Queen's Counsel and a member of the Inner Temple of barristers.
