Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    ¾ cups pearl sago
    7 cups water
    1 cup coconut milk
    1 cup sugar
    ½ cup water
    ½ honey dew melon

Soak sago with 2 cps water for 30 minutes, then drain. Bring the remaining 5 cups water to a boil and add sago. Cook until transparent. Drain in a sieve and wash under cool running water. Leave aside, until cool. Boil together sugar and ½ cup water to make syrup and allow cooling. Peel the honey dew, cut in half and discard seeds. Blend half the honey dew to make juice and cut the other half into small cubes or make small balls with a melon baler.

Mix the sago, coconut milk, honey dew juice, honey dew cubes and sugar syrup to taste. Serve chilled. Chinese desserts are not commonly served in the home, although elaborate restaurant meals often finish with a refreshing dessert such as this one. It basically has simple and easy ingredients and can be easily made at home, wherever needed or wanted. One can also make it when guests are expected. This dish proves to be a fabulous dish with simple ingredients.
