What's The Total Number Of Jews In The World?

Traditionally, Jews don't count themselves.  In the Jewish Bible, there is a command from the Lord for them not to count themselves.  If there is a demographic on this number, it is not likely to come from Jews, but from those specifically counting them.

Orthodox Jews, especially, will not even count their number at social gatherings.  Even if the host of such a gathering needs to know how much to buy, he/she will not get an accurate count but simply say, "20 or 30 should be enough settings," or what have you.

So, suffice it to say, this may not be an easy number to get.
