Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Ides of March fall on 15th of March every year. The day is said to be very unlucky and something terrible wrong might happen on this particular day. Ides means a bad day which usually falls on the 15th or the 13th of every month. The Ides of March belong to the Roman calendar. Ides of March became very famous when Julius Caesar was assassinated on the Ides of March in 44 B.C. This is an age old belief but many people believe in it and take things slow on that day. People who believe in this day are extremely careful as they fear a calamity or in the worse case, death might strike them. Many famous people have faced death on this particular time of the year.

The Ides of any month is the middle of the month. The Ides of March is March 15th. It comes from Julies Ceaser by William Shakespear. The quote is when the soothsayer ( person that can see into the future) says to Ceaser "Beware the Ides of March!"
