Answer Question

    In the proportion 13 - (b/6) = 2 - (0.5b/4), the only variable is b, therefore, we can solve it for determining the value of b.

    13 - (b/6) = 2 - (0.5b/4)

    13 - (b/6) = 2 - (b/8)  Canceling 0.5 and 4

    13 - 2 =  (b/6)- (b/8) Taking 2 on other side and b/6 on other side of the equation

    11 =  (4b - 3b)/24 Taking LCM

    11 =  b/24

    b = 264
