A few ideas of things to look for are trying to get in touch with him only to find he is not answering his phone then asking him and he makes excuses that seem somewhat far fetched.

Did he change his looks, wearing cologne more often, different clothes, going to the gym more often. Finding different things in his car that don't seem to belong.

Him becoming distant or not remembering details about you or things that you two have done together (the not remembering thing is not sure fire as most guys don't pay attention to fine detail and easily forget). He finds reasons to not go out.
