    Why Would My Dog's Rectum Look White And Slimy On The Inside His Sphincter?

    His tail stays up in the air all the time and when you look at it ,it seems to look white and slimy under the (poop) flaps that the only way I can describe it.

    I think you will find that this is secretion from the anal glands. This secretion is necessary in order for the 'poop' to leave the body easily, without difficulty. In a way this is a good sign because it means everything is functioning correctly however unsightly it may look. If these glands don't work they have to de drained.
