Should I Work From Home Or Rent An Office?

Can you afford an office and the bills that come with it? I suppose it is a tax deduction if you claim against your earnings. Can a room in your home be devoted to this task? As long as you have enough opportunities to work without being disturbed, I don't see why that wouldn't be possible, you can still claim against the bills used to run your business from home and a good accountant will argue that a portion of the rent or the mortgage should be tax deductible as you are using your home as an office now. But if you are likely to incur a great deal of interruptions at home, it's sometimes hard to work there. Home is great for some people, I personally lock (actually) myself away in the office and try to pretend I'm not at home, that way the pleasant distractions that the home is full of can sometimes be a little too tempting. The positive side is, no expensive lunches, and no transport costs getting to and from work unless you choose to bill yourself for the walk from your bed to your office. Of course, you do not even have to get dressed for work; you can tumble out of bed and go straight to work. Working late proves less of a problem and your partner won't think you're having an affair because they are right there in the house!
