    Start at the courthouse and make sure who currently owns property first, and find out how much time you have in case it was already seized and sold in a tax sale or adjudicated to the city/state (that can completely mess up everything leaving with no legal option but to buy the property, or sue everyone involved in the transfer of property...then with death certificate, birth certificates, and marriage licenses (in hand) completing your family tree to the deceased contact a lawyer asap.
