Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Rocky Mountains, also known as the Rockies, is a mountain range situated in the western part on North America. The stretch of this range is quite long and they are stretching in the area of approximately 3000 miles. Their stretch can be seen from the state of British Columbia in Canada to the state of New Mexico in United States of America.

Commonly, this mountain range is known to be stretched from Liard River in British Columbia to Rio Grande in New Mexico and some people consider it to stretched from Alaska to Mexico, but usually they are considered as a part of the American Cordillera instead of the part of the Rocky Mountain range.

The highest peak of the mountain range is Mount Elbert in the state of Colorado. This mountain range is also considered to be a major landform in the western part of the United States of America.

In the United States of America the impressive rises of the mountain range include Front Range which starts from northern part of Colorado to northern part of New Mexico.
