Well, as he starves to death eventually he will lose enough weight for the rope to slip off his neck( assuming the rope is around his neck) and then he can eat. Or, he chews through the rope. Whats the trick answer?

Is the horse that is tied with a 30 foot rope actually tied to anything or; perhaps to a cart with wheels .:) or to a another horse.

He eats the hay stack he is tied to? No, that wouldn't work.

Are we assuming that just because the rope is tied to him, that the other end of the rope is tied to something?
