Where Can You Park In London?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

London is an extremely busy city and finding a parking space can pose problems.  The first thing to note is where to try and avoid taking your car, namely central London.  This is because merely driving in to the central London zone on Monday-Friday will cost you £8 per car per day under the Congestion Charge, though evenings and weekends are free.  London's local authorities control the parking in their individual areas and mark out, with signing, where you can and cannot park and they will impose financial penalties, or even clamp your car, if you park somewhere - or at some time - you shouldn't.

If you are struggling to find a parking space in London you can always try one of the many pay-and-display or multi-storey car parks run by parking companies like NCP or London Car Parking.  Parking company websites will often provide search facilities allowing you to locate car parks in the areas of London you'll be travelling to.  Many tube stations will also have car parks attached.  For motorcyclists, there are council-owned multi-storey car parks that will often permit you to park your bike for free.
