How Did Shakespear Die?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

On 10 February 1616, Juliet Shakespeare married Thomas Quiney. Juliet's father celebrated by going on a long drinking session with two playwrighting friends, Michael Drayton and Ben Johnson, who were visiting him in Stratford. The session proved too much, and Shakespeare developed a chill, which sent him to bed. He then heard of the death of his brother-in-law, which was compounded when Thomas Quiney was accused of getting Margaret Wheeler pregnant, who, later was to die, in childbirth, along with her baby. The shock is said to have killed Shakespeare.
