How Will An Unborn Baby Get Their Food?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

There is an organ called the placenta that attaches itself to the mother's womb when she becomes pregnant. Attached to the placenta is the umbilical cord, which is also attached to the baby (later becomes the belly button). Nutrients from the mother's diet passes through the placenta and into the baby through the umbilical cord. This is why pregnant women are advised to be careful of their intake, as it will be passed to the baby.
