Gay used to be a word that meant 'happy' once and still does in certain dictionaries that people don't refer to anymore. However, in modern times gay is a term used for men or women who are attracted towards the same sex. It can said to be a slang for homosexuals. There are serious debates about this issue as some people openly wish to express their sexuality and make it a statement about their preferences in relationships. It may also be used in relation to expressing a choice in music, clothing, movies and art as 'gay'.
