I'm doing a persuasive paper on why English riding is better than western... I have never actually ridden western except on trails. If anybody could give me any insight from either sides of the argument please do!!!!

One is for sport and display and the other is to prove the workhorse capabilities of the horse used in everyday jobs(roping cattle and the horse knowing to back up to hold the rope taunt so the rider can rope the calf.. Barrel racing,manuevering cattle into a pen and so on). I figured video would help more than a description so here are a couple video clips.
