Steel is an alloy which is made up of iron, carbon and some other elements. Iron is present in the greater percentage while carbon is present from 2.14% to 0.2% by weight. The percentage of elements present depends upon the grade of steel. The other alloying elements found in steel are manganese, vanadium, tungsten and chromium. Steel is used in many industries like auto industry, air manufacturing, technology industry, home appliances manufacturing, etc. The reason is steel is used in various industries is because of its rust-resistance ability. In addition steel can be welded relatively more easily. Steel is manufactured from iron but it should not be confused with the wrought iron.
