What Are Goober Peas?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Goober or Goober peas generally refers to peanuts. The peanut or a groundnut basically is a species found in the legume family Fabaceae found extensively in South America.

It is a yearly herbaceous plant which grows up to 30 to 50 cm in height. The leaves of this plant are opposite, pinnate having four leaflets. The flowers of this plant are usual pea flower like in shape. Even though a nut in the culinary sense, in the botanical senses the crop of the peanut is normally woody legume or pod and not really a nut.

Peanuts are also famous as earthnuts, goobers, goober peas, pandas, jack nuts, pinders, manila nuts and monkey nuts. Numerous peanut cultivars are cultivated, out of which four major crops are quiet popular they are, Spanish, Runner, Virginia and Valencia.
