    What Is The Best Way To Introduce A Big Dog That You Have Had For A Few Years, To A Puppy That Is Just Entering The Family?

    I would hitch the two outside just close enough so they can touch noses. This way you do not have to worry about any harm coming to the new pup.

      Dogs identify each other by smelling the others rear end - the most important thing to do is to allow the older dog who will also be the alpha or dominant dog to thoroughly check out the new puppy - the puppy should be submissive but if it isn't the older dog may "fuss" at the pup - do not be concerned if the older dog shows some aggression since it must establish its dominance. Just be careful that the older dog isn't too aggressive - supervise supervise supervise and let the two identify each other.
