HPVs are a group virus that infect the skin and mucous membrane of humans. Over 100 different HPV types have been identified. Some HPV types may cause warts while others may cause other infection. All HPVs are transmitted by skin contact. Approximately 30-40 HPVs are transmitted through sexual contact and infect the anogenital region. Some sexually transmitted HPVs cause genital warts. Some of these can cause cancer like cervical cancer.
Your boy friend is also on high risk to develop herpes which include warts, blister or vesicles on the genital areas.
