My Dog, Bella, Chases And Growls At My Little Brother. She Barks Anytime He Walks In The Room. It's Very Hard To Manage Her, Because She Ignores All Correction. Will She Get Over This?

I have a female papillon purebread who is almost 2 yrs. I got her in September, from a very good breeder. She growls and chases my 10 yr. Brother, but has bitten him yet. She's fine with the other members of my family. She is very spoiled, but she shares her toys and treats with our two other dogs. We've tried everything we can think of, My brother has tried to feed her,we've tried crating her when she growls or barks at him, even squirting her with water when she does. She completely ignores any correction.

You are going to have to get a behavior trainer for her, maybe he reminds her of someone that wasn't nice to her. I think at this point, there isn't anything else that is going to help her get over this. Hope this helps, good luck.

      1) Your little brother did something bad to the dog. 2) Your brother could "smell" like something your dog does not like (not kidding) Dogs have a strong sense of smell.
      3) your dog "fears" your little brother.

Maybe she just isn't use to your brother yet!

Try this put your dog on a leash and hold it short then have your brother walk into the room and when she barks grab her snout and clamp it shut and say"bad girl no, no bark". Then have your brother walk closer then let go of her snout and when she charges at your brother then pull her back with the leash and say"bad girl you stay". Just make her sit there and deal with it and clamp her mouth shut once more and have your brother pet her and if she starts moving and wiggling out of your grip then tug on her leash a little and say"no". Then have your brother grab her favorite toy or buddy and hold it about 5 feet away from her and then grab her leash and if she tries to bite your brother pull her back and tape her on the head and tell her"no".
Otherwise it could be the smell of your brother or something.
Or maybe he reminds her of someone that wasn't good to her!

      Thank you!
