    Favour means "a good turn or a good deed."  It is a gracious act of extending help or doing an errand as a friendly gesture. Usually an act of favour strengthens a relationship. Favour can also mean "to support or have a regard for."

    When you say that you favour someone, it means that you are partial to someone. Favour an also have a sexual connotation, especially when a woman offers herself sexually for a personal gain. A party favour is a small souvenir or gift item given to each guest who comes to the party as a token of remembrance and appreciation. The other synonyms of favour used as a verb are preferred, like etc.
