Puppies usually receive their vaccinations just after weaning. They have them every three weeks until they are 15 weeks of age. They need these vaccinations early, as at birth they are not born with many antibodies so they are easily susceptible to diseases.

They are usually vaccinated for Parvo, Hepatitis, Distemper and Parainfluenza. Puppies are also vaccinated against Rabies when they are 4 months old. After that they need to be done every 12 months.

Vaccinations are really important as they stop your dog from becoming ill and potentially from dying. Some diseases can be contagious and so it is always best to vaccinate your puppy in case they come into contact with an infected dog. Diseases can be picked up anywhere so vaccinating your puppy is vital.

Vaccinations are not very expensive so there is no excuse for not having them up to date. All costs for the puppy should be thought of before buying one and vaccinations should be added to the overall costs.
