San Salvador is basically the capital metropolis of the country of El Salvador. This is also considered as the second largest town that is situated in Central America. It lies in the Valley of the Hammocks. Some of the famous landmarks in this area are the new National Cathedral; this cathedral faces the city centre's Plaza Barrios. Another good landmark are Catedral Metropolitana, Teatro Nacional de El Salvador, Palacio Nacional, Monumento a Salvador del Mundo, Casa Presidencial and Monumento a La Libertad, Monument to Liberty.
The genesis of this city are traced back to the Spanish Conquest. This city was discovered somewhere in the 16th century. This city today is very well known as manufactures or rather producers of beer, tobacco products, textiles, and soaps.
