How Do You Produce Sprouts From Dry Seed?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

As there are a number of variable factors involved it is in your best interests to check with the nursery or shop from where you have purchased your dry seeds for care instructions. They would be in a position to guide you on the procedures to be followed to ensure sprouting.

Bear in mind that every species of seed will have its own length of viability. For instance certain species of maple seeds will need to sprout by two weeks of dispersion, or they die. On the other hand there are cases of certain seeds of some Lotus plants which are identified as being to be up to roughly 2000 years old which can still be germinated.

In general you will find that warmth, moisture, and in the majority of the cases, indirect sunlight will be required for sprouting.
