An interview is defined as a mode of direct interaction between two or more people.  The interviewer(s) directly talks to the interviewee(s) to get valuable information.

      The types of interviews are:

      1) Structured Interview - A structured interview is very formal. The interviewer prepares the questions to be asked in advance. Usually the will make an appointment with the interviewee.

      2) Unstructured Interview - An unstructured interview is less formal and more like a discussion.  In this case the questions are not prepared in advance, but are decided as the interview progresses, and according to the answers provided.

      3) Panel Interview – These are a little less common.  In this type of interview the interviewee will be face to face with a group of interviewers all skilled in different areas of the field.  Any one of the interviewers can ask a question of the interviewee.

      4) Telephonic Interview – This type of interview can be taken as a mode of screening potential candidates for further interviews.

It can also be used when the physical distance between the interviewer and interview does not allow for a face-to-face interview.

      5) Performance Interview – Sometimes rather than asking questions the interviewer will give the interviewee a task to perform.  This way the interviewer can determine if the has the skills being sought.
