My ex and i had unprotected sex for 5yrs. Our sex included sex during my period. I have hepatitis c from i.v. Drug use years ago. I know it's unlikely to get hep c from sex, but since there was blood involved I'm a little concerned. I never hid my condition from him and he knew risks but then and now doesn't think it's necessary.

Its transmission is through blood transfusion, use of needles/syringes in the drug addicted peoples and blood contact during sexual act. Your menstrual blood also contains the hepatitis C virus. Your boyfriend should go for Hepatitis C test.
