    Major League Baseball player Jackie Roosevelt Robinson died on October 24th 1972 at the age of 53. He was the first African American to play In the Major League in 1947 before which he played in the Negro League in 1945. His name was included in the Base Ball Hall of fame in the year 1962 after he earned All-star Game nominations, 6 times in a row. He also won several awards during his carrier in Base ball.

    Robinson retired from professional Base ball on January 5th 1957. He served on the board of NAACP for a few years till 1967 as the Vice president and then resigned from the post. He wished for the Major League to hire an African American manager which was only granted in 1974, two years after his death. He died in 1972 due to heart problem and diabetes in Connecticut.
